We were as close as a couple shots going in, in those OT games in LA & EVERYTHING could have changed.

obviously I would have rather gotten more than a 6th for Yandle's rights, but I think any team is crazy if they trade higher than a 4th round pick for anybody's

I thought the plan was to get younger? Did you really think we'd give 6 million to a 30 year old? Hey, we signed Summers! I'm betting Nash and goalie prospect to Ducks for either Fowler or Lindholm. Ducks had Perron and Mcginn at left wing to finish season. Both are ufa's and now they've moved Anderson

6th rounder only gives Florida right to talk to him. If they sign him we also get a 4th rounder next season

yeah, I know, I think they have a good chance of signing him, they have that money they were paying Campbell all those years freed up

It's always been silly to me the trading a players rights thing.

Both had 28 points. Fowler under contract and Lindholm rfa. Would've liked Vatanan but they just signed him and looks like he's there to stay.

I think these cities that have a hard time attracting free agents feel like they need to do it to get a jump start on negotiations, and Arizona and Florida both qualify as teams that have a hard to attracting marquee UFA's

I hear ya, just seems like to give up any asset (or even late round pick) for a giant question mark is a huge risk.

Eric Staal is going to be able to buy a lifetime supply of big red once he gets his contract.

Only after they send a 5th round pick to Florida for the exclusive negotiating rights.

Is very entertaining to see all the Yandle blame being directed at Girardi and Staal, our younger generation of fans blow, (frank)ing nerds who never played the game
